The Checkpoint Connected Curriculum
The Checkpoint Connected Curriculum (CCC) is a response to the urgent need for climate action and sustainability education in schools. It gives children a way to explore how the world fits together through connected ideas and meaningful context.
The CCC is built on systems thinking. It replaces the accepted focus on simplistic and isolated facts with meaningful and contextualised knowledge that develops a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of the modern world. Lessons help learners see how apparently disparate knowledge links together and why it matters.
It aligns with UNESCO’s Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Greening Education Partnership (GEP) frameworks while reflecting the culture and standards of the UK education system.
Mapped to Key Stage 2, the CCC meets all relevant National Curriculum objectives and introduces new key concepts not yet present in the current framework. This gives schools a complete, future-ready resource that exceeds existing government expectations and present offerings.
The six key concepts form the foundation of the CCC. Each one gently introduces a key theme which gradually steers the children towards the complex and critical thinking skills required to balance the technical and natural world they inhabit.

The CCC is not moralistic or abstract. It is pragmatic, evidence-based and designed to prepare children for the world they are growing into. It gives teachers the tools to deliver meaningful lessons and helps students understand how learning should connect to real life.
